Mouthguards

Updated on 06/10/2022

Please make sure you have legal mouth guards. They must be colored and long enough to cover your back teeth. They also CAN'T be chewed apart. I would strongly recommend one for practice and one for games. Get one that fits so it stays in your mouth. I will not be happy when we lose possession because you ladies can't keep your mouth guards properly in your mouths.

Practice is ON!

Updated on 06/10/2022

Please come prepared for rain and cold. We will practice. I might let you out a tad early by no earlier than 5:30.

Summer lax practic/pick up/individual work

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Sara Ecker

Ladies

I plan to be at LHS starting this Thursday from 5-6:30. Next week would just be Thursday as well since Tuesday is July 4. After that we will try and go Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please let me know if you are interested via text 802-281-2325. I will then contact you via text if we need to cancel due to weather or other reasons.  The Hartford coach is going to be running something on Fridays from 5-6:30 at Clifford Park in hartford (not sure where that is though).

I know you all have a ton going on so please remember this is TOTALLY optional. However, I do encourage you all to pick up your sticks for 10-15 minutes 2-3 times a week so you don't lose all that you gained this past season. Cradle, pass with a friend, play wall ball, master a stick trick or two (from You Tube).  Please don't wait until next March to pick up your sticks again.

drop in lacrosse opportunity

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Sara Ecker

Hi Ladies

I know this is far away but wanted to pass it along anyway:

FROM THE KEARSARGE COACH: We are planning drop in lacrosse starting this Friday (June 16th)  every Friday until August 4th from 6-7:30.    We'll hold it at our Outing Club lacrosse fields behind the SAU in New London (114 Cougar Court, New London).  If any of your girls are interested, they are more than welcome to join. We're running it through our Outing Club for insurance purposes and they have asked if we would collect $5 per session or $25 for all 8 weeks.

summer lax info

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Sara Ecker

Hi All

As I have mentioned to many of you there will be a goal out back at the high school.  I would like to set up some specific times if people are interesting in skill building and/or scrimmaging. It sounds like summer soccer is Monday and Wednesday so I thought we could do Tuesday and Thursday say 5:30-7. Let's start on June 27th. Please let me know if you think you might come. I am also happy to work with people individually throughout the summer. Just let me know

Valley News articles starting on Sunday

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Sara Ecker

Hi Ladies and Parents,

I wanted to give you all a heads up that the articles about the team will start on the 11 and run for 8 days.  It is a lot and I am hopeful that Tris has captured our team  with accuracy and clarity however I cannot guarantee that. I have my reservations about this series because it is a spotlight that might make us all uncomfortable at times.  I have spoken with Tris and the sports editor to remind them to be sensitive and cognizant of the fact that it is not easy to see one's name in print and that negative words or comments can have a profound effect. Please take all that you read with a deep breath and an understanding that not all that is printed is correct.  I do hope that Tris and the editor take great care when putting this all together I have done my best to make it very clear to them that it matters.  I hope they have heard me loud and clear!

xoxo to you all

Today's newspaper clip

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Sara Ecker

Hi All

I hate to be the one to do this since I did not make the error.  I feel terrible about today's newspaper clip, which Tris wrote, not me. It notes that Hannah made 2nd Team All State, although I think she is very deserving of that honor it is a mistake. Listed below our game write up are the local All State team nominees in which Anna made 2nd team.  An apology to Hannah is not sufficient in this and I am so extremely sorry and upset that it happened.  I have no explanation for it, clearly the Valley News had the list so it doesn't make a lot of sense as to how that happened.

Some important info

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Sara Ecker

Please be aware, and make your parents and other fans aware. There are more bugs at Kearsarge than you can even imagine. It is hideous.  Bug spray is a must. Bug nets might be a good idea. Not sure if the refs will let us play with them but we can ask. :)

Team fundraiser yard sale is scheduled for June 3. We will get info from Grace as to drop off times for goods to sell. It might make sense to get things tagged the night of June 2, we can split up the jobs for everyone.

We will schedule our end of season get together ASAP. I am thinking Sunday June 4th in the evening. It would be good to get it in before crazy end of year stuff starts to happen for everyone.  The Stone's have kindly offered their home.  This will be a Varisty and JV combined event.

All JV and V players we need you to bring stuff for the bake sale

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Sara Ecker

Please please please sign up for what you are bringing to the Not in Our House bake sale TOMORROW. We can't make any money if we don't have anything to sell.

Not in Our House Bake Sale sign up May 19

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Sara Ecker

Hi All

I have shared a link to a google doc spreadsheet, you will need to cut and paste the link. Please fill in what you can bring and if you can help set up the bake sale and/or work it during the two games.  It will happen on May 19th from 3:30-6ish.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FNn4pbcjBNU1m1FmSNyT5NwGxl5GLRBOcFluNoJ9NiU/edit?usp=sharing

This is our annual fundraiser for our Not In our House Fund which we created to honor LHS's beloved teacher Natalie Perriello. The fund will serve children in homes with domestic violence.  Money will be available to help the family give the children anything they need related to sports, theater, multi purpose camps or the arts.  For example; Ballet slippers, a lacrosse stick, a flute, trumpet, cleats, a camp scholarship, a baseball mitt, karate lessons, art lessons, vocal lessons, the list is truly endless.  The fund is distributed by WISE anonymously and the kiddos and families we have reached over the past 5 years has been incredible.

camp scholarship money

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Sara Ecker

Hi Ladies,

This is from the CCBA. If you are interested let me know.

sara

Good Morning,

I have attached information regarding our scholarship fund that helps local athletes pay for a summer camp sports experience.  Step 1 is nominating an athlete and the family then completes the application and sends to me.  That simple !!  We have had very few take advantage of this great opportunity over the years, so spread the word if you think you know a young athlete that can benefit from a summer sports camp and possibly have issues paying for it.

Let me know if you have any questions and the cover letter explains the program in a little more detail.  Enjoy the sun out there, it will be brief I am sure !!

Lacrosse is Coming- preseason info and two lax opportunities

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Sara Ecker
Hi All,
Lacrosse is coming! we officially start March 20th. I have a bunch of names on this email but if you know of other players please forward this to them and let me know their names.

I am trying to find some times before the season starts that we might get in the gym to do some stick work. I am just waiting on Mr Stone to get back to me with the bball schedule. I will keep you all posted here and in the LHS announcements.

I usually like to have a preseason meeting but it seems as though Mr Stone has scheduled a parent/player meeting on the 14th so we will plan to meet that night unless I can get some gym days scheduled.

See you all soon!!

Financial aid available/Empower lacrosse

Updated on 06/10/2022 | Sara Ecker

Oops, forgot to mention that financial aid is available from Empower!!!  and Goalies are Free!!!

Empower Lacrosse- Please read

Updated on 06/10/2022

Afternoon, Lebanon Girls Lacrosse Families.

Empower has made some changes to our Winter Program at KUA to better serve our local high schools:

•  We will divide the players into two skill-based groups to target more specifically the variation in skill levels.
•  Sarah Martin, who coached at Dartmouth for 12 years as the Associate Head Coach, will generally work with the Varsity/older group.  She will be assisted by Whitaker Willocks, Kelsey Redpath and Sarah Gallimore. As before, goalies are free, and we will have a goalie coach.  Coach Bios are here:
•  Whit Willocks will work with the KUA players only, and we hope to have the two groups scrimmage each other as often as possible.
•  We will also be sure to honor all the high school rules about what coach can work with what athlete.
•  I have a stack of paper registrations already. THANK YOU if you are in that stack!  I will confirm in the next week.  As of today, we have online registration!  Please e-mail me if you have any trouble.
